Sonic to launch $SONIC token and mainnet on Solana – key dates announced

0

Sonic, the pioneering chain extension on Solana, has officially revealed the dates for its Token Generation Event (TGE) and mainnet launch.

The much-anticipated $SONIC token will go live alongside listings on major exchanges and decentralized platforms, marking a significant milestone in the project’s development.

$SONIC token to debut on top exchanges and DEXes

Sonic’s TGE will kick off on January 7, 2024, with the $SONIC token immediately available on prominent exchanges including OKX, Bybit, Bitget, KuCoin, Gate, and MEXC.

Simultaneously, decentralized exchange (DEX) support from Raydium, Meteora, and Drift will ensure broad accessibility for Solana-based traders.

The launch positions Sonic to blend web2 and web3 functionalities, accelerating blockchain adoption by integrating its app layer with platforms like TikTok.

As part of this strategy, Sonic will airdrop tokens to users onboarded from the social media giant, fostering early engagement and rewarding adopters.

Mainnet transformation slated for February

Following the TGE, Sonic will shift gears towards its mainnet launch on February 10, 2024.

This move will evolve its ecosystem from testnet to full mainnet, unlocking new capabilities to enhance utility across the Sonic network.

A key feature will be bridge activation, allowing seamless transfers of SonicSOL to Sonic, complemented by airdrop incentives for Solayer delegators.

The launch of Sega DEX, a decentralized trading platform, will further strengthen the ecosystem by providing enhanced liquidity and trading tools for users.

This initiative underpins Sonic’s long-term goal of fostering a dynamic and decentralized financial environment.

Infrastructure and strategic growth

Sonic’s infrastructure will expand with the deployment of Sorada RPC and integration with Helius RPC, boosting network efficiency and scalability.

Additionally, partnerships with Metaplex and Pyth will broaden Sonic’s reach, supporting decentralized applications (dApps) and fortifying its position as a leading blockchain solution.

Institutional collaboration through HSSN operators will play a pivotal role in scaling the network and reinforcing security.

These developments are expected to accelerate Sonic’s ambition of onboarding a billion users to web3 through its innovative platform.
