    Crypto prices on Mar 17: BTC at $83K, SOL slips over 4%

    The cryptocurrency market continued its volatile trajectory on Friday, with most major coins trading sluggishly ahead of the ahead of the Federal Reserve’s upcoming policy meeting.

    Bitcoin (BTC) remained subdued at the $83K level, while Ethereum (ETH), XRP, and Solana (SOL) experienced sharper declines.

    The global cryptocurrency market cap stands at $2.72 trillion, reflecting a 1.05% decline over the past 24 hours.

    The market remained in the “fear” zone, according to the Crypto Fear and Greed Index.

    Despite the drop in market capitalization, trading activity surged, with total crypto market volume reaching $63.3 billion, a 33.74% increase from the previous day.

    Bitcoin (BTC) price today

    Bitcoin traded at $83,212.54, down around 0.83% intraday.

    The coin’s 24-hour trading range was between $82,017.90 and $85,051.

    Bitcoin’s dominance climbed slightly to 60.74%, marking a 0.12% increase over the past day.

    Trading volume for the coin was up 68% at $22 billion.

    Bitcoin could reach new all-time highs by June if historical trends hold, according to network economist Timothy Peterson.

    Peterson pointed out that Bitcoin’s recent 30% decline from its mid-January peak aligns with typical corrections seen in bull markets.

    He noted that BTC is currently near the lower end of its historical seasonal range, suggesting potential for a rebound.

    His analysis, backed by past price cycles, indicates that Bitcoin’s trajectory remains intact, reinforcing bullish sentiment for the coming months.

    Ethereum (ETH) price today

    Ethereum (ETH) price was down over 1% to trade at $1,901.

    The intraday low and high were $1,863.49 and $1,933, respectively.

    According to SoSoValue data, Ethereum ETFs experienced an outflow of $143 million this week, up from last week’s $119 million.

    This marks the third consecutive week of outflows.

    XRP and SOL price today

    XRP fell over 1.4%, trading at $2.33 after hitting an intraday low of $2.27 and a high of $2.39.

    On Sunday, March 16, XRP snapped its five-day winning streak, falling 4.07% to close at $2.2952 after gaining 1.45% on Saturday.

    Investor sentiment took a hit as the SEC remained silent on its appeal strategy, prompting profit-taking ahead of a critical week for the crypto market.

    Solana (SOL) registered a 4.92% drop to $128 trading between $125.39 and $136 in the past 24 hours.

    It was the biggest loser among the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap.

    Trading volume was up over 41% at $2.55 billion.

    Top crypto gainers and losers

    Pi (PI) led the losses with an 8.34% drop in the last 24 hours, bringing its price down to $1.40.

    Movement (MOVE) followed closely with a 6.89% decline, now trading at $0.4366.

    Kaspa (KAS) also saw a 6.87% decrease, reaching $0.07456, while Jupiter (JUP) fell by 6.26% to $0.4924.

    BinaryX (BNX) led the gainers with a sharp 33.57% surge in the last 24 hours, pushing its price to $1.50.

    Berachain (BERA) followed with a 7.14% increase, now trading at $6.79.

    Mantle (MNT) gained 5.33% to reach $0.8241, while Helium (HNT) climbed 5.31%, settling at $3.19.

    Shiba Inu (SHIB) also saw a 5.21% rise, trading at $0.00001339.

    Avalanche (AVAX) has decreased by 2.45% in the last 24 hours, currently trading at $18.55.

    Aptos (APT) has increased by 0.40% over the past day, reaching a price of $5.32.

    Aave (AAVE) has dipped by 1.02% in the last 24 hours, currently valued at $167.97.

    Algorand (ALGO) has fallen by 3.91% over the past day, trading at $0.1891.

    Arbitrum (ARB) has seen a slight decline of 0.53% in the last 24 hours, now priced at $0.3579.

    Arweave (AR) has surged by 5.10% over the past day, reaching a price of $7.01.

    ApeCoin (APE) has decreased by 1.62% in the last 24 hours, currently valued at $0.5153.
